DTCC launches tokenized securities for 20 firms, with 34 securities worth about $30T eligible

• The service went live on October 28 on the Canton Network and DTCC's private Besu blockchain.

• Tokens cover select Russell 1000 stocks, ETFs and US Treasuries, backed one-for-one by securities held at DTC.

Google previews an MPC crypto custody service for banks, set to launch in early 2027

Google Multi-Party Compute splits a private key into fragments stored across separate systems, so no single point holds it. A policy engine in Google's Confidential Space checks each transaction against rules like transfer limits before signing. Alphabet already uses it to secure its own assets on Ethereum and Solana. The service is in private preview, pricing is not disclosed, and Google showed it at its first digital assets symposium in New York.

Utah files 14 criminal charges against Kalshi and its co-founders over sports bets

KalshiEX LLC and co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara face one felony count of a pattern of unlawful activity, 12 counts of promoting online gambling and one misdemeanor. An undercover agent from the Utah Attorney General's Office placed 12 sports wagers on the platform in September using a local address and debit card. The charges follow a civil suit Utah filed days earlier, and the CFTC has sued Utah arguing only federal regulators can oversee these contracts. Kalshi says its event contracts are federally regulated derivatives, not gambling.

Euronext suspends CoinShares' Zcash ETP ZCSH on its debut day over settlement requirements

Trading on Euronext Paris is halted until further notice, according to the exchange's notice. A Euronext spokesperson said the central securities depository must first fully support standard settlement. It would have been Europe's fourth Zcash ETP after products from 21Shares, Virtune and Valor. No restart date was given.

Coinbase adds Ripple's $2.6B RLUSD as Moody's assigns the stablecoin an A2 rating

Users of the Coinbase app, Exchange and Prime can convert US dollars and supported dollar stablecoins into RLUSD at 1:1. Deposits and withdrawals work on the XRP Ledger, Ethereum and Base. Support for Coinbase Global Exchange, including RLUSD as collateral, is expected later. Moody's also gave RLUSD a P-1 short-term deposit rating, based on credit quality and the market value of its reserves.

Circle says USDC held on Kraken grew 30%, with nearly 1B EURC traded

The figures come from a Kraken case study Circle posted on X on October 28. USDC assets under custody on Kraken rose 30% since the two firms partnered in September 2025. Kraken's DeFi Earn vaults took in 350 million USDC after launching on January 26, 2026.

Morpho RWA deposits pass $2.1B, with outstanding loans at $894M

Morpho's RWA dashboard showed $2.145B in deposits and $894.18M in loans on October 28. CertiK data put the figures at $1.58B and $641M on September 26. On July 1 they were $1.07B in deposits and $411M in loans, so deposits have doubled in about four months.

Pendle TVL rises 43% in Q3 to $1.16B, with RWAs at 82%

Pendle's Q3 2026 performance update shows the first quarterly TVL gain in a year. The $1.16B figure is as of September 30. Real-world assets made up 82% of the protocol's TVL by the end of the quarter.

Strategy shareholders approve daily dividends on four preferred stocks with 99.3% support

• The vote at a special meeting on October 28 covers STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD.

• Every calendar day becomes a record date, with payment on the next business day.

• STRC moves from 24 record dates a year to 365, starting November 1 with payment November 2.

• STRF, STRK and STRD start on January 1, with payment January 4.

• Strategy still has to file amended terms for each stock.

Mirae Asset's Hong Kong arm issues six-month notes on Solana under a $3B program

The notes pay a floating rate and were announced on October 28. Singapore-based Marketnode acted as an authorized distributor. The issue size was not disclosed. Sister company Mirae Asset Global Investments lists $275B in ETF assets under management as of June 2026.

Teku and Besu patch a flaw from eight weak certificate authorities that risked validator rewards

Indian certificate authority eMudhra generated private keys for eight intermediate CAs with too little randomness, so attackers could derive them from public certificates. An attacker between a validator and a service could impersonate it and redirect block fee rewards. Fixed Docker images ship in Teku 26.10.3 and Besu 26.10.2, and operators outside Docker must update Java on their host. No exploitation has been reported, and default Teku mainnet nodes were not affected.

Singapore police warn tampered Ledger wallets cost users S$3.5M, about $2.7M

Police published the advisory on October 28 after at least two reported cases. Preliminary checks found malicious hardware components in Ledger devices bought from some Singapore retail stores. The earliest case dates to September 10, and the wider incident became public on October 9.

AI security firm Upwind raises $400M at a $3.8B valuation, led by Bessemer

The Series C more than doubles Upwind's valuation from $1.5B at its January Series B. Canapi Ventures joined as a new investor and all existing backers returned. Upwind collects real-time data from cloud workloads, APIs and AI agents across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud. It plans to spend the money on scanners for AI agents and expansion into identity and data security.
